The cycle of the caribou antler is one of the most unique natural processes as they are grown and cast yearly .What I intended to capture in my work is the shedding of the velvet by relating this cycle to what we have gone through this pandemic. It is not really a stretch as we have learned so much from this experience to be hopefully prepared for what’s next as if it were a cycle, maybe in the form of plight. The caribou antlers regrow remarkably similar to its previous pattern as we should after this pandemic. To hide safely and to regrow to how we were before but also knowing better about life and the world.
