I got a chance to see some caribou many years back.  It  left an impression on me as they are magnificent creatures with a mystical, magical aura about them. A future as it is known to caribou would either be a future where magic has interceded for humanity’s survival, where man and beast coexist beautifully in a Utopia, or it could be a future where the caribou roam freely in a world finally rid of man and traces of humanity are like artifacts in a museum. Within me exists constant conflict between romanticism and cynicism, hope and despair. I want my work to reflect both scenarios.

The series titled “Two Sculptures and a Painting in a Room” references the work of Gerhard Richter intended for a gallery or museum.

Is “Ziggurat” the path that connects earth to the gods or a relic of a civilization long gone?  For “Cubism”, I kept the top of the cube open so the viewer can participate in the creation of the work, handle each cube and examine each side like he would a small painting. Is the work alive or a mere collection of preserved specimens?

The most destructive species on earth is also the only species capable of creating art.
